Choosing to rebuild my home after the Eaton Fire, there were so many options to consider.   I’ve never built a house before, so where do I begin?  Prefab/modular seemed appealing at first, but I realized that route was not going to give me the home I wanted for aesthetic and upkeep reasons, and was not going to save me time, money, and effort in the long run. I then looked for local, established architects with a successful, thoughtfully designed body of work. I found Bunch Design, which has an office for its team in La Canada. Throughout the entire design process, they listened carefully to my ideas, needs and limits. The results are plans that exceed my rather lofty expectations.  Bunch’s team guided me through the permitting process and helped me bid the construction to three builders.  Just a little more than 9 months after the fire, my empty plot of land now has the beginnings of a beautiful, warm, efficient, and fire-resistant home. I am excited.

I had a house I REALLY loved – I had remodeled it myself for 25 years. After the fire I wrote 20 pages of notes on the design aspects that were dear to me. Bunch has that very deep design expertise, but they used that to get into the details of what I loved first. [It still brings me to tears] … and then with the extra sq ft, they designed me a rebuild that has all my dreams from before but makes the layout better for my next era- adopted child and TBD wife.
